InfoZoneHow to Transfer Audio Tapes to the ComputerYou will need to use an RCA cable with two RCA plugs on one and connect it to your audio player while connecting the stereo mini plug into the sound card of your computer. Set your audio player near your computer. Connect the audio player to the “line in” jack on the sound card of your computer from the audio player jacks labeled either ‘tape out”, “line out” or “playback”. If you are using a portable device you might find you need a cable with stereo mini plugs on each end. Now open the CD recorder application on the computer. Select ‘line in’ as the source or input. Open the file menu and select whatever command needed to start recording. Play a selection of the music from the audio player and set the meter making sure that it is the highest it can be without going into the red section of the meter. If you are going to play this new recording on an older computer CD player, make sure you choose “close the session” before you start recording. Cue up the audio on the player just before the audio point you wish to record. Go to the command that starts the recording on your computer. It might be “record” “save” or “extract to file” and start the recording before pushing the play button on the audio you wish to record. When done, click “stop”. Save the recording as a WAV file and drag it to the CD-R window. Select the recording speed and select the command that will record the file you just created, to CD. |
